TruVoice works to empower voices of women and marginalized people who feel unheard, excluded, and disempowered at community and organizational level.
We do this through two powerful programs: by helping them to Speak the Unspeakable to be heard and to See the Unseeable for recognition and belonging.
“I believe that ultimately, we all want to be seen for who we truly are. No more hiding in the darkness. Speak the Unspeakable. This is what will change and bring justice to the world”
– Sophie Jama Malindi
Humanitarian & Founder of TruVoice
Helping people reclaim their voice from bottom up
Research shows that avoiding a toxic work culture is 10 times more important than compensation.
The world is changing fast and people are looking to work in a safe space and show their authentic selves. With over 4 million leaving their jobs due to the Great Resignation trend, it's more important than ever to create a sense of belonging. In order to do that, we need accountable and emotionally skilled leaders.
TruVoice's mission is to use non-judgemental and deeply transformative approaches to bring out the best in humanity through coaching and training. We do this by showing people how to reclaim their voice from bottom up to Speak the Unspeakable. And we help leaders to See the Unseeable to create psychological safety and create a sense of belonging to get people to realize their fullest potential.

Helping reduce inequalities worldwide by 2030
TruVoice tackles SDG 5 and 10 which both deal with inequalities.
Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 5 specifically aims to achieve gender equality and empower all girls and women around the world.
With SDG 10, the United Nations, member states, civil society, and private sector joined together to reduce inequality within and among countries by 2030. Specifically, the seven targets for this ambitious and very necessary goal is to reduce inequalities in income as well as those based on gender, race, sex, disability, migration status, and economic status.
We believe that companies can help by improving the experiences of employees by providing more inclusive and equitable environments.
Our Founder & CEO, Sophie Jama Malindi
TEDx International Speaker
Sophie has a passion for helping women and marginalized groups reconnect to their courageous voice within, break down disempowering narratives and show up powerfully in their professional and personal lives. Sophie worked in the United Nations for over a decade championing for women and children across 190 countries in underserved communities and worked to deliver critical resources, funding, and advocacy at global, national, and community level. She spent eight years in Africa, getting to know what it takes for change to happen at grassroots, organizational and systemic level and six years in Europe.
Using equity based and inclusive approaches at global level, she has also consulted and coached for top executives in DEI, working to build strategies of companies in Canada for a more sustainable, equitable working environment.
Sophie has been invited to speak at global influential events in platforms such as TEDx and World Biodiversity Forum in Davos. Her TEDx talks center around the need to provide people who do not have a voice a platform and to share the benefits of ‘Speaking the Unspeakable’ so that those who feel unseen and unheard can be part of and contribute meaningfully at all levels of society.
After spending a majority of her life feeling unseen and unheard, Sophie connected to the power of her voice and learned a powerful lesson: that sometimes giving people who do not have a voice a platform is all it takes to bring the darkness into the light. By sharing her journey of being a young Ethiopian refugee, separated from her parents, integrating her own story within a narrative of change, Sophie aims to heal inter-generational wounds by speaking the ‘unspeakable’, breaking the narrative of silence, and providing space for authentic connections.
She brings together skills in Transpersonal Psychology and principles of transformative change, coaching, and conflict resolution to ensure all team members have a safe space for voice.
